FAQ
The practical details, without the small print.
As fast as the provider reports it. Cloudflare, Vercel and GitHub publish usage within minutes, so on Pro and Team a spike alert usually lands within the hour. AWS, Google Cloud and Azure update billing data a few times a day, so their spikes show up within hours: still weeks before the invoice.
No. AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, Cloudflare, GitHub, Vercel and the other providers get read-only roles or tokens. OpenAI and Anthropic only share cost data with admin keys, which can do more than read. Costbrake only calls their usage and cost endpoints, and you can revoke the key at any time.
Those only see AWS. Costbrake puts AWS next to Cloudflare, GitHub, OpenAI and the rest, with one budget, one forecast and one alert inbox for all of them. You can keep the AWS tools running alongside it.
Month-to-date spend plus the last 14 days carried forward to the end of the month, with weekdays and weekends counted apart and flagged spikes left out. It reruns every morning, and a forecast alert fires when a budget is going to be crossed.
One connection to one provider account: an AWS payer account, a Google Cloud billing account, a Cloudflare account or a GitHub organization. Free covers 2, Pro 10 and Team 50.
Yes, on Pro and Team. Map AWS tags, Google Cloud labels, Azure tags and Vercel projects to one name, then put a budget and alerts on it.
Yes. Free covers 2 accounts with hourly syncs, 30 days of history and email alerts, with no time limit and no card. Pro is $12 a month and Team $39 a month, with 2 months free when billed yearly.
